Speech & Debate Academy Term 2 |
|
|
Speech & Debate Academy is a weekly after-school program where youth have an opportunity to learn and practice public speaking and debate skills. They will be encouraged to express their own opinions in thoughtful and creative ways. Open to grades 5 to 12. Term 2 will run every Wednesday evening from November 16 - December 14, 2022. Register by November 13, 2022. We are currently only offering Debate Academy in Saskatoon, but we are looking into the possibility of a Debate Class in Regina for 2023. |

SEDA's first speech competition will be held virtually on November 26th. It is open to students in grades 5 to 12. The top three High School students will be invited to the National Speech Championships on February 10th to 13th. Register by Friday November 18th. |
We are excited to announce that tournament 5 has now become an all-division event open to students in grade 5 to 12! This event will be hosted by Centennial Collegiate in Saskatoon on December 10th. Registration will open on November 24th and close on December 2nd. |
British Parliamentary Debate |
The first tournaments of the season were done in the British Parliamentary style of debate. Students in Grades 7 to 12 competed virtually. At our first tournament, Isabelle & Sahasro from Bedford roads school came away with the top team spot as well and first and second speaker. Our second BP event qualified students to go to the National British Parliamentary Championship in Montreal this November.
