After the Summer break, Fall always brings renewed energy with the promise of new beginnings. This year, SEDA is no different.

We’re grateful to Lindsay Kiesman for her leadership as Interim Executive Director over the summer period. As she transitions back to her role as Operations Director, we welcome Peter Hedley as our new permanent Executive Director. With 25 years’ experience in education, healthcare, and community development in both Europe and North America, Peter brings a passion for helping people use their voices to help their communities grow and thrive. You’ll have the chance to get to know him at upcoming events.

We also welcome Chelsea Holt as SEDA’s first-ever Mentor Program Coordinator thanks to generous support from the Community Initiatives Fund. Chelsea - an experienced educator and debate coach - will be focused on strengthening SEDA's relationship with schools and wider community supported by our new mentor network which she'll be developing.

Finally, we’re excited to welcome (back) both new and familiar faces to our Instructor and Tournament teams, including Aamina, Ishita, Samuel, Ibrahim, Siddhi, Hayley, Muhammad, Adero, Bilal, Talha, Hamdia, and Sanjana. We’re grateful to all of them for their ongoing support and dedication to delivering high-quality SEDA programs and events.

As we always say, ‘words are powerful' so please help us by raising your voice on your network and spread the word as we look to grow our SEDA community to welcome new members, families, and partners.

Thank you for making our work part of your journey. We look forward to seeing you very soon.
