Spotlight on Debaters

Debate has taught me many skills that I will be able to use in various situations. It has given me the confidence to speak in front of people, and has helped me become more open-minded. Not only that, but it has allowed me to meet people of my age who share the same passion of debate. By meeting like-minded people, but also people of different opinions, it has helped me view the world from other perspectives.

Tournament 1: British Parliamentary Style

Though a few technical issues put us slightly behind schedule, all participants helped make this event a success.

The Motions

Speech & Debate Academy Term 2

Speech & Debate Academy is a weekly after-school program where youth have an opportunity to learn and practice public speaking and debate skills. Term 2 will begin on Nov 8, 2021 and run for five weeks. Registration will open next week on Thursday Oct 14, 2021 and close on Monday Nov 1, 2021. To maintain high quality programming and instruction, there will be cap on class sizes. Please register and pay early.
