After five years as the Executive Director of SEDA, Fiseko, will be stepping down this June. Her tenure has been marked by vision, creativity, and integrity, guiding SEDA through challenges and milestones. During the pandemic, Fiseko ensured that SEDA's programming remained relevant, engaging, and accessible online. As restrictions eased, she successfully led the transition back to in-person programming. Under her leadership, Speech and Debate Academy grew to serve over 50 students each term in Saskatoon, Regina, and online. Her dedication to expanding French language debate created valuable partnerships with francophone organizations and clubs. Fiseko consistently aligned SEDA’s work with the strategic direction of the board, resulting in stronger programs and a noticeable increase in grant funding. Most recently, she oversaw the planning and hosting of the 2025 Senior National Championship, which was a major success that brought together 96 students and 50 adults from across Canada. We thank her for her passionate service and wish her success in her next chapter. The Board of Directors will be sharing updates on the search for a new Executive Director in the coming weeks. |

Saskatoon's annual camp is open to students who want to learn about speech and debate in a friendly and engaging learning environment. Students will build confidence and develop skills such as critical analysis and persuasive speaking. At camp, we recognize every camper is at a different stage of learning. SEDA is hard at work confirming the location and dates of camp and it will be posted on our website by the end of May. |
